Foot Masks FAQs

How do foot masks work?

A foot mask contains a concentrated formula of beneficial ingredients. The mask then sits on the feet for a set amount of time. With some masks, the ingredients are contained in booties that are placed on the feet. This makes them mess-free and easy to use.

Which foot mask is best for cracked heels?

The Dry, Cracked Skin Ultra-Hydrating Foot Mask is designed for dry, cracked heels. It contains urea and essential oils to deeply hydrate and heal cracked skin while restoring natural moisture balance.

Which foot mask helps remove rough, callused skin?

The Rough, Dry Skin Ultra-Exfoliating Foot Mask uses an alpha hydroxy complex and essential oils to soften and exfoliate rough, callused skin, leaving feet smoother, softer and well hydrated.

Is it normal for my feet to peel after an exfoliating mask?

Yes, it is normal for your feet to peel after using an exfoliating mask. These types of masks are designed to eliminate layers of dead skin, which may shed gradually over the following days. The peeling may continue for up to two weeks. This is normal. Avoid pulling at the peeling skin. Let it loosen and fall off on its own.

How long should I wear a foot mask?

How long you should use a foot mask depends on the product. The Dry, Cracked Skin Ultra-Hydrating Foot Mask and Tired, Achy Feet Soothing & Reviving Foot Mask should stay on for 30 minutes. The Rough, Dry Skin Ultra-Exfoliating Foot Mask should stay on for 60-90 minutes. The Pedi Perfect Warming Paraffin Spa-Inspired Foot Mask only takes 10 minutes to produce results. Always follow the directions on the package carefully. Relax and stay seated while you wear the mask. Set a timer if it’s helpful.

How does the self-heating foot mask work?

The Tired, Achy Feet Soothing & Reviving Foot Mask is available in the form of single-use booties. The formula in the booties is self-warming. The warmth helps ingredients like Epsom salt and menthol penetrate deeply into the foot muscles while delivering a soothing and relaxing experience.

Can I walk while wearing a foot mask?

It is best not to walk while you’re wearing a foot mask. Try to stay seated, or if you prefer, you can lie down. Masks contain hydrating ingredients that can make them slippery, so if you walk around while the mask is on, you run the risk of slipping and falling.

How often should I use a foot mask?

The Dry, Cracked Skin Ultra-Hydrating Foot Mask, the Tired, Achy Feet Soothing & Reviving Foot Mask and the Pedi Perfect Warming Paraffin Spa-Inspired Foot Mask can be used whenever your feet need extra care. If you’re using the Rough, Dry Skin Ultra-Exfoliating Foot Mask, allow six to eight weeks between treatments to avoid over-exfoliating. Follow the directions on the package carefully before using any type of foot mask.

What should I do after using a foot mask?

Read the package directions carefully so that you understand what to do after using your chosen foot mask. With the Rough, Dry Skin Ultra-Exfoliating Foot Mask, wash your feet thoroughly after the treatment is complete. If you’re using the Dry, Cracked Skin Ultra-Hydrating Foot Mask or the Tired Achy Feet Soothing & Reviving Foot Mask, you’ll want to massage any excess product into the skin and then remove with a towel.  Between treatments, use a daily foot cream to keep feet soft and hydrated.

Who should not use foot masks?

Do not use foot masks on broken, irritated or infected skin. If you have diabetes, poor circulation, or reduced feeling in your feet, ask a doctor before using a foot mask.

At-Home Foot Masks for Soft, Refreshed Feet

Foot masks are one of the easiest and most relaxing ways to give your feet some pampering and care at home. These masks are very different  from creams and lotions.  Instead of applying product to the skin and leaving it on all day, masks sit on the skin for a specific amount of time. Single-use booties are infused with active ingredients that are beneficial for the feet. You simply slip your feet into the pre-treated booties and let the ingredients work while you relax. This allows the ingredients to do their job, and it gives you an opportunity to enjoy a spa-like experience. Dr. Scholl's foot masks are made for specific needs and concerns, so you can choose the treatment that’s right for you. The masks are also mess-free since the product is contained inside of the booties.

The soles of the feet are especially prone to dryness and cracking. This is because the skin in this area is thick and doesn’t produce natural oils. The feet are also subjected to a large amount of pressure, which can cause the skin on the heels to crack. The Dry, Cracked Skin Ultra-Hydrating Foot Mask can transform dry, cracked feet. The mask is enriched with urea and essential oils. The super-hydrating formula penetrates deeply to heal and hydrate dry, cracked skin. It also helps restore your skin's natural moisture balance, leaving your feet feeling silky smooth and soft. This is the mask to reach for during the winter when dry air tends to rob the skin of moisture. It’s also great for summer if you wear sandals on a regular basis.

For rough, flaky, or callused skin, the Rough, Dry Skin Ultra-Exfoliating Foot Mask is a great choice. It helps soften and exfoliate dead skin that can build up on the soles of the feet. The mask is infused with an alpha hydroxy complex and essential oils. The ingredients work together to hydrate and buff away rough, dry, flaky skin. This mask is also effective for callus reduction. The formula leaves feet feeling soft and supple. Exfoliating masks work over time, so you may notice skin shedding gradually after use. This is normal, and it’s a sign the treatment is working.
